I used to be a grown-up. I did a grown-up job with grown up-ish people and at weekends I did grown-up things. Now I have a husband, two daughters, two dogs, a cat, oh and I don’t live in Britain any longer. I live in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
I have lots of tasks to juggle, errands to run, jobs to do and I usually forget one or two of them. I can’t concentrate on any one thing for more than five minutes.
Beautiful, colourful, characterful children’s books have been a special way to escape the routine and chaos. I love them. Over the years, our family has enjoyed some great books together. The children and I have spent some happy afternoons at the kitchen table, drawing, snipping, sticking and painting our favourite stories and characters.
I am a crafty bodger. I don’t do fiddly, faffy or stylized. I usually don’t have a plan. My stuff can be embarrassingly bad and riddled with mistakes, but I’m happy to try. I like experimenting and the fun of making it up as I go along. I imagine this is what its like to be a five-year-old.
My blog is about my crafty adventures; the things I have made with children, the things I have made on my own and the things that I have seen and have tickled me.
Thank you for looking at my blog. I hope that you like.
